Scanning Head
| Prior to returning either the SVP100 or SKP100 systems to the factory for repair or upgrade, it is necessary to stabilize the travel screw mechanisms on the scanning head. In order to do this, it is necessary to properly position the carriages on both the x (left to right) and y (towards the operator and away from the operator) axes as well as the probe holder on the z axis (up and down). |
| Please follow the illustrated instructions below prior to placing the scanning head in a box for shipment. If at any time there is a question regarding the packaging procedure, please contact the factory at: |

| 1. Remove the cover from the scanning head by loosening the 4 screws holding the cover in place and lift it off and set aside, exposing the travel screws and carriages: |
| 2. Locate the three standoff shipping screws originally included with your system when it was shipped to your facility. There should be two screws of equal length and a third, shorter one: |

| 3. The two longer standoff screws are designed to be placed on both sides of the Y-axis travel carriages. Below are images indicating where the screws are to be placed: |

| Each standoff is to be placed in the threaded hole on the carriage that is asymmetircal with the other threes holes present on the carriage (i.e. the whole that does not form a triangle with the other two holes). |
| PLEASE NOTE: Install the standoffs in the appropriate locations by hand, followed by a quarter turn with a wrench. Overtightening of the standoffs may strip the threads in the travel carriage. |
| 4. The third, shorter standoff screw is designed to be placed on the X-axis travel carriage: |
| Again, the standoff is to be placed in the threaded hole on the carriage that is asymmetircal with the other threes holes present on the carriage (i.e. the hole that does not form a triangle with the other two holes). |

| 5. Position the carriages on the Y-axis all of the way forward (toward the front) until the standoffs make contact with the carriage stops. This can be done by using the software Probe Controller, or by manually turning the screws by hand: |

| 6. Position the carriage on the X-axis all of the way to the right until the standoff makes contact with the carriage stop: |

| 7. Place the anchor screws through the corresponding holes in the carriage stops and screw them into the standoffs with an Allen wrench: |

| 8. Position the Z-axis carriage all of the way up until the carriage makes contact with the stop switch: |

| 9. Replace the cover onto the scanning head and tighten the four screws holding the cover in place. |
| 10. The system is now ready to be put in a proper container for shipment back to the factory. |
